Development Draw Launch


At our lotto draw on Saturday night we will be launching our massive Park Development Draw. This will be a limited draw with significant prize money on offer. All players and members are asked to attend the draw launch. Further details will follow next week.

Club Dinner Dance 2005


Our club dinner dance takes place this year in The Bush Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon on Friday December 30th. The function is being held to mark the anniversary of the opening of the park in 1980 and to honour the that years senior team who won the Senior Football championship. It was with deep sadness that we learned last weekend of the passing of Club President Mike-Joe Brennan. Mike Joe has been a loyal and dedicated servant of the club all his life as a player, team selector and official. Senior Shield


After a good victory over Glenfarne last week the Seniors played the second game of the Senior Shield on Sunday last against Aughnasheelin. Having lead for most of the game Cloone let Aughnasheelin back into the game in the closing stages and lost by one point on a score line of 0-14 to 1-12. Clone Read On....

U-14 Team wins Championship.


Congratulations to Cloone under 14 girls football team who won the 7-a-side Championship on Wednesday evening last against Melvin Geals in Ballinagleara. Our sincere thanks to Damien Brennan for all his time and hard work, training them throughout the year.

Club All-Ireland Tickets.


The winners of the clubs allocation of All-Ireland tickets this year were Kevin Doherty and Kevin Foley.

Defeat for U-16 Team


Our U-16 team were defeated by 3 points against Aughnasheelin in the U-16 Championship. Two missed penalties were to prove very costly in the end.

Juniors Go Out


Our junior team were beaten by Dromahaire in the Junior B semi final on Sunday last. Leading by a point at half time with the strong breeze was not enough to ensure a county final appearance. Final score Cloone 1-09 Dromahaire 0-17.

Junior Semi-Final this Weekend.


Our junior team play in the Co. Junior B Semi-final this Sunday in Pairc Sean at 12:00. The opposition is Dromahaire so it is hoped to have large turnout of supporters.

Floodlighting Project out to Tender.


Plans to floodlight the pitch in Cloone are at an advanced stage with the project currently out to tender. A number of the key players in the field have surveyed the ground and it is hoped to proceed as quickly as possible with the project.

Cloone win local derby.


Cloone overcame neighbours Aughavas in the Senior B Championship in Carrigallen on Sunday. Aughavas took an early lead of 0-3 to 0-1 but a goal for Cloone after 20 minutes saw them take the lead. Minors go out in Semi-Final


Our minor team, who are amalgamated with Aughavas were defeated by Dromahaire yesterday evening in St. Marys in Carrick. Both teams played well and managed to go a few points in front at different stages but the concession of a goal in either half by the Camber Geals team proved their downfall. The Read On....

U-14 defeat Bornacoola.


Our U-14 team defeated Borncoola in the U-14 championship on Monday evening last. Playing attractive football Cloone moved the ball well and took some good scores. The team now have two wins out of three games.

Juniors Register first round win.


Our junior team got their championship campaign off to a good start with a 0-13 to 1-9 victory over neighbours Mohill yesterday in Aughavas. Despite leading at half time Cloone found themselves 5 points down after just ten minutes of the second half but fought back at the finish to snatch an injury Read On....

Funding from Lotto Grant Secured.


The club have recently been fortunate to the Dept. Arts, Sport and Tourism for capital funding from the lotto grants scheme. Having put forward a good submission the club recieved €80,000 towards out upcoming developments. While we are still a long way short of the funding we need this still is a ve Read On....

Ladies Defeated in Championship


Hard luck to our Senior Ladies team who were defeated in the Championship quarter final last weekend. Despite missing a few of their regular players the girls gave a very good performance.

Minors into Co. Semi Final


Our amalgamated minor side with Aughavas Camber Geals have qualified for the 13-a-side Minor Semi-final by virtue of their walkover over Kiltubrid last week.

Senior Championship Quarter Final.


Good luck to our Senior Ladies team who play Kiltubrid in the quarter final of the Senior football championship in Bornacoola on Saturday evening (July 30th) at 7:00.

Minor Game goes ahead on Thursday


Our amalgamated minor team Camber Geals play their final group game on Thursday next in Aughavas at 8:00pm. The game is against Kiltubrid and a win will see the team through to the Co. Semi-final. Please support.

U-12 Continue Winning Ways.


Well done to our U-12 team who had a comprehensive victory over Eslin on Monday last in Cloone. Cloone ran out victorious in a high scoring encounter that sets them up well to make the semi-final.

Michael Creegan RIP


For the second time in nine months our club was devastated with the tragic and saddening news of the death of one of our senior players. It was with shock and disbelief on Tuesday evening last as we prepared for training that we learned of the passing of our club mate and friend Michael Creegan. Mic Read On....

Senior Championship 2nd Round.


We play Sean O'Heslins in the second round of the senior championship on Saturday evening next in Fenagh at 7:00. This is a vital game for us and your support would be appreciated.

Charity Fundraising Night


In four weeks time, Tara McCabe and Marie Conboy are off to Africa to climb the Kilimanjaro in aid of Childline. The Charity supports the Street Children of Nairobi. The Club would like to congratulate Eileen and Aidan Donohoe on the birth of their second child. A little brother for Brian. The future is looking good for Cloone football.

Senior League Win


On Sunday morning, we took on Annaduff in the Senior League. Despite Annaduff getting off to the better start, Cloone went in at the break leading by one point. Minors Register first Victory.


Our Camber Geals minor team registered their first victory in the minor championship yesterday evening against Carrigallen. Although behind at half time by one point the team played well in the second half to win by 2 at the finish.

Charity Fundraiser.


Tara McCabe will be holding a fundraiser for her trip to climb Kilimanjaro in aid of the charity Childaid on Friday night next July 15th in Clarkes Hotel Mohill. Music on the night is with eamon mac. Childaid supports the street children of Nairobi and all support would be greatly appreciated.

Senior Championship


The first round of the senior championship took place on Saturday evening last in Ballinamore where Cloone took on Bornacoola. Our U-12 championship campaign began on Friday July 1st last with a defeat to a stronger Fenagh side. Our U-14 team have just completed their league campaign having emerged from their group after a play-off with Leitrim Geals. Unfortunately we were beaten in the co. semi final by a stronger Eslin side. Training resumes for the championship on Wednesday evening at 7:30

Minors Defeated in 1st Round.


Our minor team who are amalgamated with Aughavas under the name Camber Geals played the first round of the minor championship yesterday (Wednesday) evening in Aughawillan. Conceeding a goal early in the second half left us constantly chasing the lead. The team must win their remaining two games to s Read On....

Senior Championship.


We play our first game in this years senior championship on Saturday evening next in Ballinamore against Bornacoola at 7pm. Hopefully all supporters will be out in full voice for the game.

Hard Luck Leitrim


Hard Luck to Leitrim who were defeated by Meath after extra time on Sunday last. It was a great performance and great credit is due to all involved in the wonderful progress that has been made this year.

9-A-Side Game


We played Kiltubrid in the final game of the 9-a-side league on Sunday morning. Kiltubrid were by far the better team on the day and were deserved winners. U-10 Training


Training for all U-10 boys and girls takes place each Saturday in the park at 11 O Clock. Parents are reminded that children must be collected when training finishes.

Minor Training.


Our amalgamated minor team Camber Geals (with Aughavas) had their first training session on Thursday last in Cloone. They play the first round of the championship in two weeks time.

Training for Senior & Juniors


Training takes place this Friday night(1st July) in the park at 8:30. There will be a challenge game on Saturday evening and training again on Monday.

Club Lotto Draw


Our lotto draw takes place in Creegan’s Bar on Saturday night next. Jackpot is now at an attractive €11,500. Team on duty is Seamus Tiernan, Kevin Fitzpatrick, Mick Harte and Gerard Doherty. Your support is as always appreciated.

Jersey Presentation


On Saturday night next in Creegan’s Bar, the club are holding a presentation function to coincide with Tommy & Pat’s sponsorship of new jerseys for the senior teams. County Team Victory


Congratulations to Leitrim ladies who beat Roscommon in the Connacht Junior Championship at the weekend. Those representing Cloone on the day were Sinead Brennan, Lorraine Brennan, Carla Creegan and Teresa Mylott, we also wish the ladies best of luck as they take on Galway this weekend.
