Eric Taylor RIP

There was widespread sadness and regret when the news spread of the sudden and untimely death of Eric Taylor at his residence in Edergole last week. Eric and Padragín came to live in the parish a few years ago and soon became totally engrossed  in all thing Cloone, and in particular the activities of Cloone Gaa.

They were great supporters of all the club activities; they attended all fundraising functions and eagerly looked forward to the Annual Come Dine with Me, and always had a team for our annual fundraising table quiz. Eric and Padragín got great enjoyment out of Cloone winning the Intermediate Championship in 2009, they wore their Cloone Gaa polo shirts with pride,  and they were part of the bus load of  travelling supporters  that made the long journey to Salthill to support the team in the Connacht  Club Championship. Indeed  long after the celebration had settled down the Cloone Gaa club flag proudly adorned Eric and Padragín’s car.  The club would like to extend its sincere sympathy to Padragín, and to all the extended family members.
