County Scór Finals

On Saturday evening last the club had the honour of hosting Scór Sinsir Coiste Chontae Liatroma, and the Community was full for what was a huge night’s entertainment. It’s great to see Scór return to its former glory with at least half the clubs of the County taking part and great credit must g0o Oifigeach Cultuir agus Teanga Coiste Chontae Liatroma Claire Crossan and her committee for the great work they has done to reinvigorate Scór again.

Historic Occasion

It was a historic occasion for our club when Cloone were announced as club of the year winning the Cormac McGill shield for the first time. The credit for this must go to our very energetic Scór co coordinator Gerard Keegan who has done trojan work both at Scór na nÓg where the club participated in six disciplines and also for the great work done at Scór Sinsir.

Amhránaíocht Aonair

Our first participant was in Amhránaíocht Aonair where we were represented by Peter McNally. Peter gave an absolutely marvellous rendition of Raglan Road but was just narrowly pipped by an excellent performance from the Carrigallen representative.

Tráth na gCeist

Next on stage was our Tráth na gCeist team of Tara McCabe, James McCabe Eamonn Cunningham and Seamus Tiernan. This was a proverbial cliff hanger with a tie breaker needed to separate ourselves and Fenagh St Caillins. Following the tie breaker Fenagh st Caillins emerged by a single mark. Great credit to our team who performed so well. Our club would like to extend our best wishes to Fenagh St Caillins who now go forward to represent Leitrim in the All Ireland Final in Killarney on April 2nd

Heartiest congratulations to our Leirú competitors who captured the Leitrim title for the first time with their hilarious comedy sketch entitled ‘The Raw Deal Nursing Home’. The cast was as follows, Maureen Cooke, Gus Cooke, Gerard Keegan, Michael Clancy and Adrian Kelly, and what a performance they put on. This hilarious act really had the crowd in the stitches of laughter from start to finish and great credit must go the Cast and indeed Bernie McGovern and Aoife Keegan the entire backroom crew for this wonderful show. They now go forward to represent Leitrim in the Connacht final in Lecarrow Co Roscommon on Saturday March 12th. All supporters are asked to note the date and judging from the reaction on Saturday night a huge crowd from the parish will be travelling to support the group. Our new found interest in Scór has brought a very welcome dimension to the club and great credit must go to everybody who has been involved in this most enjoyable activity within the club.

The club would like to thank the many people who made themselves available to help out with the staging of Leitrim Co Final of Scór on Saturday night and everybody who contributed to making the night a great success.
