Championship Success for U-12 Team

There were great scenes of jubilation when our under 12 team were crowned Div 4 under 12 champions at The Leitrim GAA Centre of Excellence in Annaduff on Saturday last. To reach the final this team of stars had to defeat Bornacoola, Garadice Gaels, and Drumkeerin team to play Glen Gaels in the final. While all the performances were excellent in the early rounds they certainly kept their best performance for the final winning on a score line of Cloone 6-07 to Glen Gaels 1-09. 

Cloone started best and were quick to take the lead and continued to lead at half time by 2 05 to 0 05. They maintained their momentum in the second half and ran out comfortable winners. This talented group of players included the following Grace Murphy, Annaughmacooleen, Cathal Donohue Esker, Michael Tiernan, Annaghmaconway, Anthony Luby Cloone, Tiernan Kellegher Annaughmacooleen, Conor Keegan Faughill, Rachel Reynolds , Corduff, Arron McCrann, Mountida, Colin McNamara, Camber, Margret McCrann Mount Ida, Thomas Casey Drumdarkin, Katie
Charles Edenbawn, James Dimmock Mount Ida Nichole Lennon, Faughill, David Murphy, Annaughmacooleen, Maria Cunningham Sonagh Beg. 

Behind every good team is a team of good mentors and the trainers of this team were Seamus Tiernan, Eileen and Aidan Donohue. The club would like to thank and congratulate this fine group of young players for bring much needed success to the club and a special word of thanks to their mentors who provide training and the parents who provide transport to the weekly Saturday morning training sessions.. A big thank you also to the large group of supporters who turned out to all games to support this fine group of young players. 

Finally a special word of congratulations to club president Pat McNamara who watched a new generation of his family achieve success in the Cloone jersey.
